One Man Dead After Shooting On North Lamar Blvd. In North Austin
The shooting took place in the 9400 block of North Lamar Boulevard near Rundberg Lane around 7:24 p.m. Wednesday.
AUSTIN, TX — A man is dead after a shooting in a north Austin shopping and restaurant area Wednesday night.
The man was found wounded in the 9400 block of North Lamar Boulevard near Rundberg Lane around 7:24 p.m. before he was later pronounced dead on scene, Austin Police Department told reporters in a news conference on Wednesday.
Police said it received a call for a disturbance and a collision and that shots were fired. When officers arrived, they found the man and attempted to give him aid before he died from his injuries.

Authorities said they don’t know how many people were involved, but clarified there was no ongoing threat to the public.
Officers detained one person Wednesday night to investigate their involvement in the incident.

Officials are asking anyone who witnessed or recorded video of the shooting to call the Homicide Tip Line at (512) 477-3588. Authorities noted the area is very busy, and many onlookers crowded the parking lots to watch the investigation unfold Wednesday night.
Police will be looking into surveillance video from the nearby businesses in the following days.
