Southbound I-35 Shutdown Due To Deadly Crash In North Austin
The main southbound lanes on Interstate 35 were shut down south of Parmer Lane in North Austin due to a deadly crash early Wednesday.
AUSTIN, TX — The main southbound lanes on Interstate 35 were shut down south of Parmer Lane in North Austin due to a deadly crash early Wednesday morning.
The Texas Department of Transportation closed the lanes around 4 a.m. Wednesday after Austin police said several people called 911 on reports of a man in the middle of the road who appeared to be trying to be hit by traffic, KXAN reported.

Officials said several vehicles did hit the man, leading to his death.

The closure on Southbound I-35 at Tech Ridge Boulevard lasted several hours before reopening to ongoing traffic after 8 a.m.
Officials have not released any new information about the person who was killed or the drivers involved in the fatal crash.
