The university has designated the university as a distribution point for the vaccine as the state readies the first shipment to Texas.

AUSTIN, TX — The University of Texas at Austin — designated by the state as a distribution site for the coronavirus vaccine — is scheduled to provide a briefing on Tuesday outlining a distribution plan for the shots.

The first batch of vaccines against the respiratory illness is expected to arrive by next Monday, state officials previously announced. Health care workers have been identified as the first recipients of the arriving vaccine, according to the state advisory.

The UT-Austin distribution plan overview is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m., university officials wrote in an advisory.
