The Vortex Summer Youth Program Hosts Auditions For Area Youth

AUSTIN, TX—The Vortex Summer Youth Program invites students ages 13-17 to sign up and audition for Summer Youth Theatre 2021: Pandemdem Edition. Directed by Jennifer Jennings, this year's program will be highly competitive, with a select youth ensemble of young actors, writers, musicians, designers, and technicians vying for a spot.

Appointment-only auditions will be held May 22 & May 29, and students of any ethnicity, heritage, gender, disability, or economic background, and students of all experience levels are welcome to audition for a select ensemble of diverse youth. Audition guidelines include:

• Seeking students ages 13-17 to participate in Summer Youth Theatre 2021 (SYT).
• Student submits application online or by mail, signed by parent/guardian.
• Prepare a memorized, one-minute monologue from a play.
• Tell a story about one moment that helped you get through the pandemic.
• Schedule 15-minute, in-person, masked Audition/Interview.
• A parent/guardian is required to attend the interview.
• Masks Required for audition/interview.
