Ground Broken On Austin MLS Soccer Stadium

$240 million stadium is expected to take about 18 months to complete, with full functionality scheduled by Spring 2021.

AUSTIN, TX — Austin has achieved a major goal (pun intended) with the groundbreaking for a state-of-the art Major League Soccer stadium for the Austin FC team on Monday.

Groundbreaking ceremonies began in the morning, with Mayor Steve Adler, League Commissioner Don Garber and Austin FC/Two Oak Ventures CEO Anthony Precourt among the dignitaries in attendance.

Officials said the $240 million stadium is expected to take about 18 months to complete, with full functionality scheduled by Spring 2021 for the Austin FC team’s inaugural season.

Austin FC officials have set up a live stream link (see below) for fans to watch the action from McKalla Place where the stadium will be built. A construction cam will allow fans to watch the stadium's construction process along the way.
