Williamson County Adds Traffic Signals On Sam Bass Road
The interim traffic signal at Walsh Ranch Boulevard will improve safety for people turning left to reach Walsh Ranch Middle School.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — Williamson County has launched key safety improvements on Sam Bass Road by installing two interim traffic signals at Great Oaks Drive and Walsh Ranch Boulevard, officials said Wednesday.
The construction contractor is Austin Traffic Signal. The project is scheduled to be completed in early 2021 at a cost of $319,866, and is being funded with voter-approved 2019 road bonds.
“The interim traffic signal at Walsh Ranch Boulevard will improve safety for people turning left to reach Walsh Ranch Middle School, but more importantly, make it safer for vehicles exiting onto Sam Bass Road from Walsh Ranch Drive to go eastbound,” Precinct 1 Commissioner Terry Cook said in prepared statement. “The light at Great Oaks Drive will facilitate traffic mobility through the intersection, especially for vehicles using the turning lanes.”
