AUSTIN, TX — A woman who was killed in a wrong-way crash in South Austin has been identified, authorities said.

Jennifer Rosas-Sanchez, 26, was killed on June 26 in a crash on the 500 block of West Ben White Boulevard, police said Thursday.

Around 2:31 a.m., police arrived to a wrong-way crash on West Ben White and discovered a 2004 Silver Mercedes-Benz collided with a 2015 Silver Nissan Sentra driven by Rosas-Sanchez.

The 26-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The fatal incident marks the 54th fatal traffic crash of 2021 in Austin, which has killed 56 people. Around this time last year, there were 40 fatal crashes resulting in 42 fatalities, officials said.
