2 Arrested For Woman's Sexual Assault At East Austin Park

Woman went to park after fighting with her boyfriend only to be approached by two men who took turns sexually assaulting her, police say.

EAST AUSTIN, TEXAS — Two men have been arrested in the sexual assault of a woman at an East Austin park last month, police said on Thursday.

The Dec. 21 incident occurred in the Davis/White Northeast Neighborhood Park near Loyola Lane and 183. The victim told police she had gone to the park at around 6:30 p.m. after getting into a fight with her boyfriend. There, she saw an older man cooking on a grill who as staring at her, according to a police account. She retreated to a different area of the park to make a call before being approached by the older man, who offered her a beer.

The woman declined the offer before a younger man emerged. Both men attempted to strike a conversation with her. At one point, the older man approached her from behind, grabbed her hair and held a knife to her throat. The two men then led the victim to the rear of the park where they took turns sexually assaulting her, according to police.

After they finished attacking the woman, they directed her to the bathroom to clean up and ordered not to exit before five minutes had transpired. After emerging from the batrhoom, she gathered her belongings before calling her boyfriend and 911.

After a thorough investigation, police arrested David Green, 58, and Kyle Matthew Kenoski, 18, after charging them with aggravated sexual assault. Bond for Green has been set at $400,000 and $200,000 for Kenoski, according to Travis County Jail records.
