Arrest Made In Fatal East Austin Park Shooting

Glenn Madison Deal Jr., 25, charged with capital murder in death of Andre Lanier Davis, Jr. in case likely stemming from robbery as motive.

AUSTIN, TX — Police have made in arrest in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred in Givens Park last month, officials said Thursday evening.

Glenn Madison Deal Jr., 25, was arrested on May 30 for the death of Andre Lanier Davis, Jr., 47, in April. Police responded to Givens Park, 3911 E. 12th St., at around 10:45 p.m. on April 9 amid reports of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found Davis already dead with obvious trauma to his body. In the course of their investigation, police determined robbery to have been a motive in the death.

It's unclear if more arrests in the case might be forthcoming. In their original press advisory, police described "one of the suspects," adding that "suspects were possibly seen leaving in a black Nissan car."
