Austin Airport To Test Fire Alarms For 1 Week Starting Oct. 24
Don't be, well, alarmed if you hear the sirens blaring over the course of the next seven days as it's only a test, airport officials said.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — If you're near the airport over the course of a week starting Wednesday and hear fire alarms, don't be alarmed yourself: Austin-Bergstrom International Airport officials will be testing their emergency alert systems.
The airport will conduct tests of its fire alarm system for seven days starting on Wednesday, Oct. 24, through Nov. 5. The fire alarm tests are scheduled at times to avoid high traveler traffic, officials noted.The tests are conducted to ensure the safety of travelers and employees in the event of a fire emergency, airport officials added.
Signs to inform travelers and employees of the fire alarm testing will be posted in advance, according to a press advisory. The Austin airport fire alarm system testing is scheduled at the following dates and locations:

- Apron Level, Oct. 24 and Oct. 25 from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.
- Concourse Level, Oct. 30 through Nov. 2 from midnight to 3 a.m.
- Baggage Level, Nov. 5 from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m.
The testing is being conducted in preparation for a Fire Marshal Test to take place at a later date, airport officials said.
