Austin Justice Coalition 'Black Boy Joy' Showcase This Saturday
April event to feature local talent from across Central Texas in adding to narrative of boys and men of color, organizers said.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — The Austin Justice Coalition is scheduled to stage its inaugural presentation celebrating the lives of boys and men of color on Saturday.
The event showcases talent from across Central Texas, advancing the narrative of young mean of color, AJC officials previously described. Through the Alliance for Boys and Men of Color Catalyst Fund at Community Partners — a national fund established to build, develop, and invest in local coalitions across the nation — Austin joined the movement through the Austin Justice Coalition to advance justice and build opportunity for boys and men of color, their families, and communities, officials said.
Free and open to the public, the event is scheduled on Saturday, April 27, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Huston-Tillotson University, 900 Chicon St. To RSVP, click here.

The showcase aims to add to the narrative of boys and men of color, AJC officials said. Through the Alliance for Boys and Men of Color Catalyst Fund at Community Partners — a national fund established to build, develop, and invest in local coalitions across the nation — Austin joined the movement through the Austin Justice Coalition to advance justice and build opportunity for boys and men of color, their families, and communities.
"As the Austin Justice Coalition continues to focus on policy on the local and state level, we know that it is integral to our culture to provide a creative outlet young boys and men of color," ACJ officials said. "There are not enough opportunities to allow men of color to perform in unique ways."
