Austin Police Kick Off 'Read With A Cop' Event
Officers Bino Cadenas and Armando Perez aim to promote positive community interactions, and will unveil Hunter Henderson Memorial Library.
EAST AUSTIN, TX — Police officers will read children's books to kids at the East substation on Monday in kicking off the new "Read with a Cop" series.
As a way of promoting positive interaction between police and children, officers Bino Cadenas and Armando Perez will host the event from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the substation located at 812 Springdale Rd. Light Snacks and beverages will be provided.
During this event, the Hunter Henderson Memorial Library will be unveiled. Henderson is the son of Officer Chance Henderson and his wife Jessica who passed on Dec. 28, 2018, following an accident at home.
