Missing 10-Year-Old Girl Found Safe (Updated)

Ashley Lopez was last seen at around 3 p.m. on the Overton Elementary School at time of search before she was found safe and sound.

UPDATE: The 10-year-old girl who was reported missing from an elementary school has been found safe, police told Patch on Friday. Ashley Lopez, 10, had gone missing after last being seen at Overton Elementary School, 7201 Colony Loop Dr., police said. A photo of the girl was issued in the hopes someone might recognize her and alter police as to her whereabouts.

Later Friday, police said the girl ultimately was found safe. No further details were disclosed.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Police are seeking help from the public in locating a missing girl who was last seen at the elementary school she attends.

According to a police advisory, ten-year-old Ashley Lopez was last seen at 3 pm. on Thursday, March 7, at Overton Elementary School, 7201 Colony Loop Dr. The girl hasn't been seen since, police said in a press advisory issued early Friday.

The Hispanic girl is described as standing at four feet, five inches tall, and weighing 70 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes, police added. The girl was last seen wearing a long-sleeve, green army pattern shirt with exposes shoulders, long gray pants and black tennis shoes. She was also wearing a backpack decorated with "Emoji" pictures, polices said.

Police released photos of the missing girl in the hopes someone might come across her and alert detectives. Call 911 if you see her.
