Austin Tech Company Relocates To East Austin

Smarter Sorting, which specializes in sorting technology, has signed a 2,500-square-foot office lease in East Austin, officials said.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Austin-based Smarter Sorting has signed a 2,500-square-foot office lease in East Austin, officials said on Wednesday.

The tech company specializing in sorting technology will be relocating their headquarters to 2900 East Cesar Chavez Street, officials said. JLL Senior Associate Bre Brown and Associate Spencer Holbert successfully negotiated the office lease on their behalf. VRA’s Andrew Ashmore represented the landlord, Rosa Santis.

“Smarter Sorting’s innovative technology and continued progress prompted them to seek out an open-office environment that accommodated even greater creativity and future growth,” Holbert said. “We’re thrilled to find them something they can make their own.”

According to JLL Research, East Austin has been Austin’s most active submarket in 2018 in terms of absorption. Through the second quarter of 2018, the submarket has seen 312,371 square feet of office absorption year to date, 82,447 square feet more than the central business district, which is the second-busiest sector, researchers found.
