EAST AUSTIN, TX — In typical grand fashion befitting its avian namesake, The Rooster — widely considered the best breakfast burrito truck in Los Angeles — is making its imminent entry into the neighborhood known.
Eater Austin reports that food truck operators have announced details of their Texas expansion with a planned location at 1606 East Trailer Park on East 6th Street by May. The food truck originally was supposed to be parked at La Barbecue's former home at the Aztec Food Trailer Park on East Cesar Chavez, the blog noted.
The Austin counterpart will feature monthly breakfast taco specials in collaboration with Austin chefs, officials said. Locally sourced fare such as bread from Texas French Bread and Cuvee Coffee’s cold brew will be showcased, according to the food blog. Chef/owner Rouha Sadighi told Eater customers also should expect local staples, including a dish featuring barbecue dish and migas.
