Newly Opened Gym Features 'World's Largest Bouldering' Attraction

EAST AUSTIN, TX -- A newly launched East Austin business has reached new heights of success.

Dubbed “The World’s Largest Bouldering Gym,” the 50,000-square-foot gym offers a simulated rock-climbing feature that serves as its main attraction. A fitness center, yoga room and lounge are among the added amenities.

“It’s pretty mind-blowing,” manager James Santelli told KVUE-TV about the immediate success for the gym since its November soft opening. The business had a grand opening just last week.

Gym operators regularly alter the rock climb with different configurations, adding to the challenge. The rock-climbing feature encompasses nearly half of the site’s floors space, about 23,000 square feet.

Santelli attributes the success of the venture to a robust fitness-minded population in Austin.

“It’s bringing a new culture, a new group of climbers that might not have done this in the past,” Santelli said.
