Pedestrian Dies In East Austin Traffic Collision
Man in his 40s succumbed to critical wounds after being struck by car along 5100 block of Interstate 35 late Sunday morning.
EAST AUSTIN, TX — A pedestrian trying to cross Interstate 35 was killed on Sunday in East Austin, police said.
The southbound lanes along the 5100 block of I-35 at 51st Street were closed for some time in the aftermath of the fatal collision as detectives investigated the scene. Austin-Travis County EMS medics said a man in his 40s was rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries after the crash that occurred at around 11 a.m. According to police, the man died a short time later.
Serious injury collision in the 5100 blk IH-35 SB has resulted in a traffic fatality. Roadway will be closed until further notice.
