Police Seek East Austin Sexual Assault Suspect

Assault occurred along the 1000 block of Clayton Land on Feb. 2 after a woman answered a knock at her door at 2:30 a.m.

EAST AUSTIN, TEXAS — Police are searching for a suspect accused of forcing his way into a woman's East Austin apartment over the weekend before sexually assaulting her.

According to a police advisory, the assault occurred along the 1000 block of Clayton Land on Feb. 2 after the woman answered a knock at her door at 2:30 a.m. The victim, who was alone at the time, told police the man pushed her down after forcing his way into the apartment and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned man, possibly Hispanic, between 30-40 years of age. He stands at five feet, ten inches tall, has brown hair, a goatee and brown eyes. He was las seen wearing a beanie hat, long-sleeved green thermal shirt and sweatpants.
