Tacodeli Opens New Restaurant At Austin Airport

Eatery brings farm-to-taco ingredients in an array of chicken, pork, beef, and vegetarian tacos as well as a choice of salads.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Popular Austin eatery Tacodeli has opened has opened its newest location inside the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, officials announced Monday.

The restaurant is situated between gates 23 and 24. Chef and founder Roberto Espinosa’s said his penchant for a diverse menu that draws inspiration from both his Mexican heritage and the culinary creativity found in Austin will be in evidence at the new location.


"We're excited to bring the flavors of Tacodeli to the travelers at Austin Bergstrom International Airport. It's great to see ABIA's commitment to hosting local businesses and we're proud to be a partner," Espinosa said.

Tacodeli brings farm-to-taco ingredients in an array of chicken, pork, beef, and vegetarian tacos as well as a choice of salads. This new concession will offer a fast-casual dining experience with a selection of handcrafted tacos and salads on the menu, officials explained in a press advisory. Guests can choose from breakfast favorites such as the Otto, Jess Special, and Migas Taco and lunch tacos including the Frontera Fundido Sirloin or Chicken, Akaushi Picadillo, and The Heather. Tacodeli will also feature their award-winning salsas, including Doña, chips made with 100 percent organic masa, and will have a variety of local beer for sale, officials added.

Operated by airport concessionaire Delaware North, Tacodeli will be open daily from 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and in true Austin fashion will feature live music Monday through Friday from 3 to 5:30 p.m.

“Bringing Tacodeli’s distinctively Austin savory fare to the airport gives our passengers a true taste of our city,” said Terry Mahlum, Regional Director for Delaware North. “Delaware North is excited to have partnered with this local favorite.”

Tacodeli first opened its doors in 1999 at the original location of Barton Skyway and Spyglass in Austin, Texas. Eric Wilkerson joined Tacodeli soon thereafter as a Partner and Owner. Today, Tacodeli has restaurants in Austin, Dallas, Plano and Houston; this will be Tacodeli’s 11th location, with their downtown Austin location slated to open in Spring of 2019 at 301 Congress Avenue.
