El Paso Chamber: Mobility Tool From Brookings

The Brookings Institute has unveiled a new, interactive digital tool to track mobility of workers through various economic sectors. The think tank explains that the site “…can compare jobs by wage level, current demand (estimated from real-time job postings),” and “mobility index” ranking (a new indicator Brookings constructed that ranks occupations based on whether their workers typically transition into higher-paying jobs).

The data tool is important for business and policymakers alike. Users can track a variety of data points including information on labor markets, worker depth, demand of workers, and median wage. Brookings presents the tool as well as some big picture analysis from their Workforce of the Future Initiative.
