El Paso Ferris Bueller Takes Mom’s BMW, Gets The Belt
Moms always know. And when this one in El Paso found out her 14-year-old was joyriding in her BMW, she made it her mission to find him.

EL PASO, TX — Take a clue from Aaron, a 14-year-old from El Paso who disabled the security camera at his mother’s home and went on a joyride in her brand new BMW: Moms always know.
And when they know, it’s not always going to end well. “Give me the belt,” Aaron’s mom said to his sister when they caught up with him in traffic.
Then she made good on the implied threat, walloping the boy from the driver’s side of the BMW.

Aaron thought his plan was foolproof. He unhooked the WiFi, which disabled the security cameras, took her keys and took off in the BMW to pick up his best friend, according to a report from Houston television station KTRK.
Meanwhile, Mom found out. Moms talk. The other boy’s mother told her what was up. An older daughter, who lives next door to her mother, confirmed the car was no longer in the driveway.

“She told me she was on her way home and to grab her belt,” Lisa Campero, Aaron’s sister, told the television station.
Armed with the belt, the mother and daughter joined forces to track Aaron down. The sleuths’ first stop was at Aaron’s girlfriend’s house. She gave them up. The boys had picked up another friend, a 15-year-old girl, and since they’d participated in her quinceanera, Mom knew where she lived.
And there he was, at an intersection near the girl’s house. Her daughter caught the whole thing on her cellphone video camera.
Honking her horn, Mom pulled up beside him and yelled, “Pull over now!” Then, to her daughter, she said, “Give me the belt.”
He pulled over, she jumped out of her car and then Aaron have it.
“She said when she opened the door, he was smirking,” Campero told the television station. But “he wiped the smile off his face” when he saw the belt, she added.
He was initially embarrassed, but apparently loves his newfound fame as “El Paso Ferris Bueller,” a nod to the iconic tale of a boy determined not to go to school in “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”
And Aaron apparently learned his lesson, said he deserved the punishment — besides the belt, he lost use of his electronic devices and his bedroom door was taken off its hinges — and “needs to make better decisions,” Comparo said.
