El Paso Receives FAA Airport Safety Excellence Award
El Paso International Airport (EPIA) received the 2018 Airport Safety Excellence Award from the FAA.
From the City of El Paso: El Paso International Airport (EPIA) received the 2018 Airport Safety Excellence Award from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Southwest Region.
The FAA has recognized EPIA’s hard work, diligence and devoted efforts in maintaining and improving airport safety. EPIA received no discrepancies for its Part 139 Recertification Inspections in 2018 and 2017. The airport was also recognized for its vehicle safety as well as superb Airport Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) and Tenant Fueling Agent Inspection and Training programs. Setting the standard for a safe and secure city is in line not only with the City of El Paso’s and EPIA’s Strategic Goals, but also with the core values of the FAA in advancing the safest, most efficient airport system.
“I am extremely pleased with the efforts and accomplishments of our Airport Operations and Security Staff, who diligently maintain the safety and security of EPIA for the sake of all tenants, employees and, of course, the traveling public,” said Monica Lombraña, Managing Director of Aviation and International Bridges, “To have the FAA recognize us for these efforts speaks to the exceptional standard of excellence to which we hold ourselves on a daily basis.”
