El Paso School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in El Paso is August 21. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The El Paso Independent School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/21: First Day for Students

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/29: No School for Students (Staff Development)

October

• 10/13: End of Grading Period
• 10/16 - 19/19: Testing
• 10/24: Elementary School Early Release, Parent-Teacher Conferences
• 10/25: High School Early Release, Parent-Teacher Conferences
• 10/26: Middle School Early Release, Parent-Teacher Conferences

November

• 11/3: No School for Students (Staff Development)
• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Fall Break)

December

• 12/4 - 12/8: Testing
• 12/20: Early Dismissal for Students and Teachers, Last Day of Fall Semester
• 12/29 - 1/2: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/2: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/3: No School for Students (Teacher Prep)
• 1/4: First Day of Spring Semester
• 1/15: No School (MLK Day)

February

• 2/19: No School for Students (Staff Development)
