It's true, there is an actual month dedicated to manners! I googled it and this is what I found:
September is National Children's Good Manners Month. As with many skills taught
during childhood years, manners can be instilled early too. Manners
include both simple forms of etiquette and courtesy, but also teach
responsibility, respectfulness, kindness and more.Sep 5, 2016
Now,
I think that we would all agree there is no time like the present,
which means, "Please don't wait until September to teach a child about
good manners". This is a character trait that is certainly on the top
ten list. It's important to remember that there are others, be it a
child, a co-worker, a passer by who listen and hear what you have to
say. Be a role model, make it a habit to use polite words, to perform
kind acts and to use your manners no matter how you're feeling, where
you're traveling and who you're talking to. This leads to respect.
Manners Monkey is one of the nine Characters of Character and
offers books, ideas and activities to teach manners to our children,
while gently reminding adults to use them. There is no person who is
better than the next and to say polite words goes a long way.

When you hear a child using polite words, it warms my heart. They learned
them from you, so continue to do exactly what you do. Just think, as a
child they use polite words and as they learn and grow their good
manners will continue to show.
Sincerely,
Joni Downey, President and Founder of Characters of Character.
