Father's Day Gifts For Your Texas Dad
There's still time to buy him a present he will remember for a long time.

Father's Day is just around the corner, and we know that many of you are still looking for the perfect gift for dad ... whether he's a golfer, a fisherman, a wine lover, or a car fanatic. Experience gifts are hot, so we have some of those for you, and we've also thrown in some whiskey. These items are available online and widely distributed in retail store in Texas, or both, so you needn't worry about getting something in time for the 18th. Without further ado, here is the Texas Patch 2017 Father's Day Guide.
First, to that whiskey, one made in Texas. It's 9 Banded Whiskey, and dads who like to make cocktails will love this bottle. It's a smooth pour, has a slight kick, and tastes of honey and (mild) fermented apple. I conducted a tasting panel that included 9 Banded, and we decided that this one was perfect as a sipper, and even better as a base for cocktails, such as a Texas Toddy. You can get this Lone Star libation for around $28, and it's available everywhere (click here for a list of retail establishments that carry it).
Next, something for the race car dads out there. In Texas, that means the Mario Andretti Racing Experience, a fast, exciting, and endorphin-producing gift that won't be easily forgotten. These are Indy-style race cars, full of horsepower and beauty, and dad will pilot his alone, on the Texas Motor Speedway, a professional track in Fort Worth. Click here to make your father's dream come true. Prices range from $99.99 to $1919.99.

How about a tie? Yes, all dads need at least a few neckties, and we love these from Paris Texas Apparel Co. They are colorful, stylish, made of 100 percent silk, and perfect for Texas men. You can help them remember the Alamo, or celebrate the Margarita. Then there's the chips and queso tie, and the armadillo tie. There's not a boring one to be had. Buy here.
Staying in the sartorial category, we proceed to cowboy boots. But not just any old boots. We're talking beautiful boots made from alligator skin by the craftsmen at Lucchese. They don't come cheap — they will cost you around $4,300 — but this is a gift that dad will wear for years. The skin is durable, and they wear well. Odds are that he will have them for the rest of his life. You can get them here.

Food. Food is always a great gift for dad, and we've got you covered in that department. We're talking steak, of all kinds and cuts, from The Texas Steak Warehouse. Your selections are shipped straight to your door, overnight if you want that, and the prices are reasonable for this type of quality. You can get dad a sampling or rib eye (boneless or bone-in), N.Y. Strip, and sirloins, plus there's pork and sausages. A great choice would be the Meat Lover's Combo — 12 steaks for $147.94 — two 5 oz. filet mignon; four N.Y. strip (8 oz.); four 8 oz. rib eyes; and two 8 oz. top sirloin.
Come to think of it, we can't think of any father who wouldn't be excited about any of the gifts on our guide, and we know many who would love all of them. Here's to Texas dads!
