Bush, 93, was admitted to Houston Methodist Hospital on Sunday, April 22 after he contracted an infection that spread to his blood, not even 24 hours after the burial of Barbara Bush, his wife of 73 years. His office released a statement the following day that said the 41st president was responding to treatments and he appeared to be recovering.
