Harvey: Body Identified As Missing Omni Hotel Worker

She had been missing since Aug. 27 when the flood waters ravaged the hotel, and was identified by a family member.

HOUSTON, TX — A woman who went missing in the chaos of Hurricane Harvey was identified as the body found at the Omni Hotel in Houston. Police did not confirm the identity of the victim, but a family member spoke out.

Jill Renick, 48, was "loved by so many people, and we will feel the impact of her absence in our hearts forever," said her sister, Pam Eslinger.

Renick's body was found in the ceiling of the basement of the Omni Hotel, where she worked as the spa director. A statement from the hotel said they are "heartbroken and shaken by this development," Click2Houston reported.

According to Click2Houston, Renick went missing during an Aug. 27 evacuation of the hotel. She called a co-worker, saying she was stuck in a service elevator. Employees looked for her to no avail, unable to raise the elevator due to a power outage and rising waters.

The Houston Police Department Dive Team attempted to find her that day, but the flood made it impossible.
