Houston Weekend Traffic May 5-7: Closures You Need To Know
In addition to the I-45 construction, there are lots of other disruptions in the mix.

HOUSTON, TX — Ready for the weekend? It's going to be a great one, but if you plan to drive on Saturday or Sunday you should know that there will be some stretches of road that could cause you some delays, not to mention an abundance of frustration.
The Texas Department of Transportation announced a slate of closures for May 5-7, including stretches of Highway 290 and Loop 610 South.

Community Impact Newspaper put together a list of the disruptions based on TxDot's information, and here they are:
1. The Hwy. 288 northbound connector ramp to Loop 610 South will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of May 6. Drivers can take Hwy. 288 northbound to Loop 610 eastbound, exit Scott Street and U-turn to Loop 610 westbound.

2. One outside lane will be closed continuously on Hwy. 290 eastbound from Hwy. 6/FM 1960 to Jones Road from 9 p.m., Friday, May 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday, May 6.
3. Hwy. 290 will be closed eastbound from FM 529 to Beltway 8 west from 9 p.m., Friday, May 5 to 10 a.m., Saturday, May 6. Drivers can detour to the frontage road at the FM 529 exit and re-enter at the collector-distributor past FM 529.
4. Beltway 8 North will have two outside lanes closed westbound from John F. Kennedy Boulevard to the Hardy Toll Road from 10 p.m., Friday, May 5 to 9 a.m. Sat., May 6.
5. The westbound frontage road of Beltway 8 North will be closed from Milner Road to Aldine Westfield Road from 10 p.m., Friday, May 5 to 9 a.m. Sat., May 6. Drivers can detour to Beltway 8 westbound main lanes using the Beltway 8 entrance from John F. Kennedy Boulevard or join the Beltway 8 westbound frontage road by taking the Beltway 8 exit ramp to Hardy Toll Road.
6. The eastbound frontage road of Loop 610 South will be closed from Woodridge Drive to Hwy. 35/Reveille Street until 9 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30. Loop 610 eastbound traffic can take the I-45 southbound connector ramp and exit Broadway and U-turn. Loop 610 eastbound traffic will exit Telephone Road and take Telephone Road to Park Place to Hwy. 35.
7. One inside lane of Loop 610 South will be closed continuously eastbound and westbound from Scott Street to Almeda Road until 5 a.m., Monday, June 26.
8. Two outside lanes of the eastbound and westbound frontage road of Loop 610 South will be closed at Telephone Road until midnight, Thursday, May 25.
9. The Hwy. 290 eastbound connector ramp to Loop 610 West will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Sunday, May 7. Drivers can detour to the I-10 connector, exit to I-10 westbound and U-turn at Wirt Road /Chimney Rock Road to I-10 eastbound to Loop 610 south or north.
