HOUSTON, TX — Hurricane Harvey hammered Houston Saturday night and all through Sunday morning, turing Houston into a rising swamp. Here's the latest on what you need to know in the Houston area about the storm, which the NHC is forecasting will produce rain through Thursday:

- Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner has urged residents to stay off the roads and only call 911 if it’s life threatening.
- Houston ISD has cancelled classes and activities the entire week, with school now set to open Sept. 5.
