Man Kills Intruder Who Had Tied Up Family In Houston Home Break-In
Family of four was rescued by their uncle, who lives next door; two suspects are at large.

Houston, TX — One man is dead and another injured following a home break-in in northeast Houston. Police officials said four men forcibly entered the home at 3700 Crandon St. on Tuesday morning and tied up its occupants, pistol-whipping them in the process.
Ruben Garcia, a 19-year-old who lives in the house with his mother, 10-year-old brother, and twin brother, told authorities that one of the intruders tied him up with shoelaces after threatening to kill his mother if he did not come out of his room, where he had been when the men entered the home.
"I didn't know what was happening until I saw the man holding a gun to my mom's head," Ruben told KTRK.

What happened next could have been a scene from a Hollywood movie: Garcia told investigators that his uncle, who lives next door, burst into the family's home, gun blazing. When it was over, one of the intruders was dead, one was injured, and two fled and were at large.
