Man Who Attempts To Steal Rolex In Mall At Loose [Watch]

This surveillance video shows man run into jewelry store, hit glass with a hammer and then run from security; HPD seeks public's help.

HOUSTON, TX — Houston police seek the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted in trying to smash a window and steal Rolex watches last month at a store in Memorial City Hall. The suspect walked into Ben Bridge Jewelry in the mall, approached the Rolex display case and produced a hammer. After the suspect struck the display case with the hammer four times, he was confronted by the store security guard. The suspect then dropped the hammer and fled the store on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, 30-40 years-old, about 6-feet tall, weighing 275-300 pounds, with short black hair, a full beard and mustache. He was wearing a white t-shirt, black and white vertical-striped pants and white tennis shoes.

The burglary attempt at the mall, located at 303 Memorial City Way, happened around 7:30 p.m. on December 2, 2017.
