New Wine and Spirits Store Opens In Galleria's Tanglewood Shopping Center

Total Wine, a chain with more than 100 locations around the nation, will open two more stores in Houston in March.

HOUSTON, TX — Spec's just got some new competition in Houston.

Total Wine is now open in the Galleria area, at 5016 San Felipe, and the wine, beer, and spirits world in the Bayou City just got larger.

Total Wine says that each of its locations carries more than 8,000 different wines, and more than 2,000 wines not available in any other store in the nation. In addition, the average store in the chain stocks more than 3,000 different spirits and 2,500 beers.

A tour of the store impressed, and the service was attentive. I asked several employees a few questions about wine, and they all responded with care and authority. Lynn Prebis is the manager of the Galleria store, and she seems to have assembled a good team.

The wines at the store run the gamut in price and origin, and if you are looking for Champagne, you'll love this place. You'll find wines and spirits from Italy, California, Germany, Spain, Washington, France, and everywhere in between here. Whether you're seeking a 2010 Chateau Petrus ($3,799.97) or a Sartori Amarone ($39.59), you'll probably find anything you want.
