Piggy's Kitchen & Bar Opens In River Oaks

Restaurant is part of the Creek Group, which includes Onion Creek, Cedar Creek, Canyon Creek, and Lowbrow.

There's a new restaurant and watering hole in River Oaks, and the man behind knows a thing or two about food and drink. Gary Mosley, who owns and runs the mini-empire known as Creek Group, has opened Piggy's Kitchen & Bar, and says patrons can expect upscale service combined with his group's casual style.

"The Creeks are known for their great patios, classic food, and bar scenes. Piggy's brings all of those things to the table and more," Mosley told the Houston Chronicle.

Mosley's hospitality group operates Onion Creek, Cedar Creek, Canyon Creek, and Lowbrow. Piggy's Kitchen has set up shop at 3412 West Lamar in a older building.

"This location really chose us. We were contacted a couple of years ago by a Realtor who knew that we are advocates for preserving the integrity of Houston's history in its buildings," Mosley said. "Houston has a bad rap for tearing spaces down for new construction and we wanted to keep it alive as a communal neighborhood space."

The eatery and bar is in its soft-opening stage, and will open fully on Friday, April 21. Expect a wide selection of Houston-brewed craft beers and a full bar, plus pizza, hamburgers, tacos, and fried chicken, among other menu items.
