Shirtless Man Takes Houston Police On Stolen-SUV Chase

He was caught breaking into a convenience store, then tried to evade arrest by stealing police vehicle.

HOUSTON, TX — The Harris County Precinct 6 Constable's Office is down one SUV this morning, after a man attempting to evade arrest early on Tuesday morning jumped into the vehicle and sped away.

When officers responding to a break-in attempt at a convenience store on the 2000 block of South Wayside entered the store, a shirtless man jumped into a deputy constable's marked SUV and sped off, according to Larry Crowson, a lieutenant with the Houston Police Department. The officers followed the man, using GPS tracking.

The shirtless man drove to his ex-wife's house, located in north Houston, and crashed the SUV into a ditch at the intersection of Priest and Burden. As reported by the Houston Chronicle, he ran into his ex-wife's house, broke in, and threatened her.
