Temporary Lamar HS Lockdown Didn't Affect Classroom Instruction: School Official
Bellaire PD chase ended in parking lot at Lamar High School, suspects fled into the school

HOUSTON, TX — A traffic stop that began in Bellaire on Tuesday morning ended with a temporary lockdown at Lamar High School, a Houston ISD spokesman told Patch. The suspects led police to the Lamar campus, where they fled the car and ran into the school. The lockdown lasted approximately 30 minutes and classroom instruction was not interrupted.
"A Bellaire PD investigation involving several suspects led them on a chase ended up on our campus," HISD press secretary told Patch on Tuesday afternoon. "Multiple suspects from the vehicle Bellaire PD chased ran onto Lamar’s campus, reportedly inside the building. They’re believed to be Lamar students. Bellaire PD and HISD PD searched for the suspects while the lockdown was in place. Lockdown was lifted within 30 minutes and everyone was deemed safe. Instruction never stopped."
Reports were made that several suspects were seen running toward Lamar around 11 a.m. Tuesday. HISD police department has one suspect in custody.
