Two More Upscale Restaurants Coming To River Oaks

Baltimore-based Atlas Restaurant Group to open Mediterranean-style, seafood-oriented eatery in River Oaks.

HOUSTON, TX — An upscale Baltimore restaurant group that flies fish in from all over the world to their high-end eateries will open two locations in the River Oaks District this Fall. Atlas Restaurant Group (ARG) said it plans to open Ouzo Bay and Loch Bar in the Equinox building at 4444 Westheimer Road. They plan to occupy 11,000 square feet of space with both indoor and outdoor dining.

Ouzo Bay is an upscale Mediterranean restaurant that first opened in Baltimore in 2012 and focuses on top-quality seafood. Here is a look at their various menus from lunch to dinner, brunch, cocktails, desserts and wine.

Loch Bar is a whiskey-oriented bar with a high-end seafood menu. Loch Bar also has a wide array of items on its menu. Alex Smith (not the Kansas City quarterback) of ARG said he intends to have the widest selection of whiskey in the state of Texas, according to a report in Houston Eater.

Smith said ARG plans to hire its staffs locally, including the chef of each establishment.

"We’re actively looking for a local chef right now," Smith told Eater. "We’ll hire someone local and train someone in Baltimore. We’re not flying anybody in, we want to build our business with a local employee base."
