World Series 2017: Why The Fan Threw Home Run Ball Back On Field
The Astros fan, after stealing the World Series home run ball from his sister-in-law, chunked it back. Colorful language followed.

HOUSTON, TX — There's mad, and then there's angry, red-eyed, spitting blood and nails mad. And then there's the Astros fan who threw back a World Series game 5 home run ball in the ninth inning, all because a Los Angeles Dodger. Who cares if he stole the ball from his sister-in-law who actually caught the ball, right?
So here's the scene. It's the top of the ninth inning and the Astros had just come from behind to take a 12-9 lead. The Dodgers had a runner on first base when L.A.'s Yasiel Puig launch a ball just over the left field wall into the first row of seats. Sarah Head caught the ball and appeared overly excited.
Well, the guy two seats to her right, brother-in-law Kirk Head, appeared to ask and see the ball himself. Kirk grabbed it, reared back and chunked it back onto the playing field (ala Wrigley Field style). Sure, Sarah was upset, but not for the reason one might think.

“I would have liked the opportunity to throw it back myself,” Head said in this report by Yahoo Sports.
Of course, the internet nearly went offline so many folks posted about the event. Yahoo Sports asked Kirk head what he thought about becoming the newest, hated villain on the worldwide web, and he commented, "[Expletive] the Dodgers."

The Dodgers scored another run and eventually sent the game to extra innings, where the Astros won, 13-12, to take a 3-2 game lead in the 2017 World Series. Game 6 will be Tuesday night, with a pending Game 7 Wednesday if the Dodgers win Tuesday.
As for Susan and her brother-in-law, looks like they have a funny family story to tell for generations to come.
"We hugged and made up afterward," said Kirk, who acknowledged it'll probably take more than a slight embrace to recover a souvenir in of of the greatest games in World Series history. "We talked about giving her my Nolan Ryan signed bat and ball."
For now, they'll probably settle for a World Championship from their beloved Astros.
