American Red Cross Texas Gulf Coast Has New CEO

David Brady, formerly with the Houston Zoo, is also the Texans' stadium announcer.

HOUSTON, TX — David Brady is a man with many hats, and now he has taken on a role that helps others in times of need. Brady was this week named the CEO of the Texas Gulf Coast chapter of the American Red Cross.

“We are very pleased that David has joined us,” Susan McEldoon, the chair of the Greater Houston American Red Cross board of directors, said in a statement. “Not only does he have strong leadership, fund development and marketing experience from a successful career with non-profit, entertainment and sports organizations, he’s a native Texan with a passion for the well-being of our Gulf Coast communities." McEldoon is also KHOU-TV's president and general manager.

Brady, who attended college at Sam Houston State University, was most previously executive vice president of the marketing, communications, and strategic implementation at the Houston Zoo. Prior to that, he was managing director for Lone Star Sports and Entertainment, a partner of the Houston Texans. He's been the stadium voice of the team since 2006.

“It’s been a privilege to contribute to these organizations that so greatly impact our community,” Brady said in the statement. “Now I have the opportunity to apply what I’ve learned at an organization that exists solely to prevent and alleviate human suffering. I look forward to working with Red Cross staff, volunteers, partners, donors and friends to ensure we continue to be there for our communities whenever we are needed.”
