Another House Fire Sparked By Cigarette Near The Heights
Part 2: A second house caught fire from a cigarette this week near The Heights, this time a burning cigarette dropping onto some laundry.

HOUSTON, TX — Houston firefighters reported a second house fire ignited by a discarded cigarette near The Heights this week, this time in the 8000 block of Maxroy at 9:17 a.m. on Thursday.
According to HFD, the crew of Engine 67 arrived on location and found light smoke coming from a one-story home. They made an offensive attack on the fire and found a pile of clothing on fire. They removed the pile and extinguished it. There was no extension of the fire.
A resident had been smoking a cigarette and accidentally dropped it on the pile of clothing.

There were no reported injuries, and there was an estimated $3,000 damage.
There was a house fire reported on 8th Street in The Heights on Wednesday afternoon, not even 24 hours before the cigarette fire on Maxroy.
