Heights Store Sells $1 Million Powerball Ticket For Wednesday's Drawing

Heights winner used the quick option and just missed out on $307 million jackpot, which rolls over to an estimated $356 million

HOUSTON HEIGHTS, TX — Nobody won the mega jackpot of Wednesday's Powerball lottery, but someone came awfully close with their ticket bought at a store in The Heights. Whomever purchased Powerball tickets at Heights Food Mart on 130 Heights Boulevard needs to check their numbers immediately (and sign the back of your ticket) as a $1 million ticket was purchased there.

The winning Powerball numbers on Wednesday were: 12-30-36-47-64 with a Powerball number of 9 and Power Play of 4. The only player from Texas who hit all five numbers (no Power Play) was somewhere in The Heights.

TxLottery.org reports the winner used the quick pick option to match five out of five numbers.

The grand prize was a $307 million jackpot, in which there were no winners. The jackpot rolls over to this weekend with an estimated jackpot of $356 million. The Mega Millions jackpot rolls over to $382 million. This is the first time both jackpots are above $300 million at the same time.

So what could someone do with a million dollar windfall? Well, they could put a nice down payment on one of these snazzy homes with outlandish swimming pools, or even buy one of these fixer-uppers and flip it.

If they decide to buy a new car, beware of the top 10 vehicle makes stolen in July, as reported by the Houston Police Department.
