House In Which Human Bones Were Discovered Is For Sale Again

Remains of woman were found last week in Heights house, and now it's back on the market.

The real estate market can be tricky. Location is important, of course, and so are views, closets, and kitchen appliances. But what about the lack of human remains? That's what the owner of the house on Allston Street has been dealing with — an actual human skeleton — since a couple he leased his property to discovered the remains while moving in last week.

"I only bought it [the house] about a year ago, I hear the lady died two years ago and police hadn't found anything," Michael Nassif told the Houston Chronicle. "I wish they would have discovered her body back then, I'm just an innocent bystander. I'm very sorry about that lady."

The house, a 1930s bungalow, is on the market for $439,900.

Police are investigating the discovery of the skeleton and attempting to determine if the remains are from Mary Cerutti, who owned the house before Nassif purchased it. She disappeared in 2015, and the housed went through foreclosure after a series of missed payments.
