Houston To Get Yet Another Austin-Based Taco Restaurant
Tacodeli, which emphasizes its use of local and organic ingredients, will debut in the Bayou City on April 11.

HOUSTON, TX — Does Houston need another taco shop? Seems that the owners of Auston-based Tacodeli think it does, and they'll open their first location here on April 11. Expect lines during the restaurant's first week of business.
The eatery is setting up shop on Washington Avenue; expect tacos featuring bison, chicken, beef, pork, fish, and, of course, vegetables.
"I've been a huge fan of the Houston restaurant scene since I first started visiting the city back in the '80s! It is very exciting to know that we will finally be able to sling tacos in a city with some serious culinary heritage,” Tacodeli co-owner Roberto Espinosa said in a statement. “We are especially excited to be opening in a unique part of the city along Washington Avenue with great neighbors such as B&B Butchers, Julep, and soon to open Platypus Brewing in our building."

Not all Houstonians are excited about the news, however.
Washington Avenue is not lacking in the taco department, and Tacodeli will also compete with Laredo Taqueria, Molina's, and El Tiempo, to name but a few places at which the beloved food item are served.
Tacodeli has five locations in Austin and one in Dallas.
