Houston Heights DB Jalen Green Commits To Play Football At Texas (Video)

Green had offers from all over the country, but chose the Longhorns over LSU, Ohio State, Oregon and Penn State

HOUSTON HEIGHTS, TX — Heights cornerback Jalen Green is one of the best high school players in the country, so just about every college that has a football team wanted him. Friday night Green committed to play at the University of Texas in Austin through a video he posted to his Twitter account.

Green is 6-foot-2, 175 pounds. He's rated as the No. 5 cornerback in the nation snd No. 37 overall player by 247Sports.com. Green is a team captain for the Heights Bulldogs and undisputed leader of their defense. He's a lockdown corner with blazing speed.

Green had more than 30 college offers, but he chose Texas over other heavyweights like LSU, Oregon, Ohio State and Penn State.

He is committed to play in the U.S. Army All-American Game in January and he recently competed at The Opening in Oregon. Green was also expected to attend the ‘Stars at Night’ recruiting event in Austin on Friday night.

Green also lines up and plays offense at times, and he's quite a gifted basketball player.

Heights will have seven home games at Delmar Stadium this fall, including the first four of the season. They open on Thursday, Aug. 31 against Fort Bend Travis. Homecoming will be Oct. 6 against District 18-6A foe Bellaire.
