Houston, Here Are Your Weekend Concert Tips: Tish Hinojosa Returns, and Eschenbach Conducts Bruckner
She's a Texas troubadour, and he's a master of the classical world, so don't miss these two shows. Plus, Green Day!

The weekend has returned, and though rain has been forecast for Saturday and Sunday, the music scene in the Houston area is going to be as exciting as ever. Patch presents your Weekend Concert picks for March 3-5.
First, let's head to the classical genre and two greats, Christoph Eschenbach and Anton Bruckner. The Houston Symphony has them both this weekend, and I urge you to get to Friday evening's performance, because Eschenbach is a fine conductor and Bruckner's music is sublime.
On the bill are Te Deum and Bruckner's Symphony No. 1, both major works. Eschenbach once served as the Houston Symphony's music director, and this return performance — Friday at 8 p.m. — promises to be a great one.

Next, she's back, after being forced to cancel a planned February gig. Its Texas's own Tish Hinojosa. Don't know her? Well, that's perhaps forgivable, but not wise. Her career has taken her and her music around the world, and she's doing a show at the legendary Anderson Fair on Saturday. She is a songwriter extraordinaire, and her guitar playing is something to behold.
She's been playing for a while now, writing and recording and touring, and her take on life and love and politics is worth hearing.
Catch Tish Hinjosa at Anderson Fair at 8:45 p.m. on Saturday. (For those of you closer to Galveston, you can also see Hinojosa on Friday night atOld Quarter Acoustic Cafe in Galveston.)
Finally, how about something in an arena? How about Green Day? The band hits the stage on Sunday, March 5, at Toyota Center, and the audience will be diverse and loud. These guys are back in Houston for the first time in eight years, and you don't want to pass this up. You can get your tickets to Green Day here. Against Me! opens, and the show starts at 7 p.m.
