HPD Arrests Man Charged In SW Houston Shooting

Elie Ngouelet, 18, is charged with capital murder of Ramone Alviso Esquivel last week.

HOUSTON, TX — An 18-year-old man accused of the shooting death of Ramone Alviso Esquivel, 56, last Tuesday in Southwest Houston has been charged and arrested,a according to Houston police.

HPD arrested Elie Ngouelet, who is accused of Esquivel at 8404 South Course around 6 a.m. that day.

Patch reported last week that Esquivel was in the parking lot of his apartment complex and on his way to work when he was confronted by an unknown black male who attempted to forcibly take Esquivel's personal property. When Esquivel resisted, the suspect pulled a gun, shot Esquivel and then fled the scene.

Police used sketch drawings and a surveillance video to help identify Ngouelet, who is charged with capital murder in the 232nd State District Court. Police have not yet released the head shot of Ngouelet, who turned himself into the police.
