Among the topics the teens will discuss Saturday morning are active shooter incidents, peaceful demonstrations and gun control.

HOUSTON, TX — Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo will meet with members of the Youth Police Advisory Council (YPAC) Saturday morning to chat about issues important in the lives of teens. The meeting will happen at 9 a.m. Saturday (March 24) at the HPD Edward A. Thomas Building, located at 1200 Travis.

Among the topics the teens will discuss are active shooter incidents, peaceful demonstrations and gun control.

YPAC fosters communication and trust between the HPD and area youth. Since 1997, the council has provided a forum where a diverse, volunteer group of high school teenagers meet with the police chief, other police officials and adult mentors to share and discuss issues of importance to Houston's youth, with an emphasis on law enforcement topics.
