North Loop 610 Shut Down After Vehicle Strikes Pedestrian

Victim was undergoing treatment in a hospital; roadway has been reopened.

HOUSTON, TX — Emergency crews and EMT personnel responded to an injured man on Interstate 610 and the North Freeway on Thursday morning, and the roadway was closed for several hours.

Police responded to a call for assistance around 9:15 a.m., and discovered that a man had been struck by a vehicle on the freeway. He was transported to a hospital and underwent treatment. His status was not available, though he was conscious when taken to the hospital.

According to the Houston Chronicle, traffic was backed up as far away as the Katy Freeway. Traffic flow returned to normal around 11 a.m, according to Houston TranStar.
