Rain, Hot Temperatures Expected In Houston This Weekend
Rain should begin hitting the Greater Houston area Friday evening and become more probable through the weekend and into next week.

HOUSTON, TX — Rain shouldn't wash out plans in Houston this weekend, but it may slightly dampen them. Gulf moisture will propel rain across the area with a 40 percent chance Friday evening, a 50 percent chance on Saturday and 60 percent on Sunday. High temperatures will continue to hover in the upper-90s, and the heat index will push 100 degrees or higher.
With rain chances over the weekend, the roof at Minute Maid Park will probably be shut for the Twins-Astros series that starts Friday night. The rain chances continue on Monday and Tuesday at 70 percent and 60 percent, respectively. A low pressure system in the Gulf of Mexico continues to have rotation, which keeps local rain chances high.
Showers should start easing up on Wednesday. Also, a slow-moving tropical wave in the southeast Atlantic Ocean could turn into a tropical depression by early next week.
