T-Mobile Service Restored In Houston

T-Mobile's CTO said service has been restored in Houston as of 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Here's what to do if your service isn't back online.

HOUSTON, TX — T-Mobile CTO Neville Ray said Tuesday afternoon that service has been restored in the Greater Houston area after an outage that lasted several hours.

"Service has been restored," Ray tweeted around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. "If you’re still experiencing issues please power cycle your device. Apologies for the disruption this afternoon!!"

T-Mobile customers in Houston suffered a major outage Tuesday afternoon. Ray announced through social media there was a major fiber cut, and that engineers were working to resolve the issue.

"We’re seeing impact to our service in the Houston area due to a major fiber cut," Neville ray tweeted. "Engineers are engaged and working with our transport partner to get this resolved as quickly as possible. Thanks for your patience."

The Houston Rockets advised fans who intend on going to tonight's Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals to check their phones or devices if they use Flash Seats to enter the arena. The Rockets say all T-Mobile users coming to the game should ensure an ID has been added to your Flash Seats account for entrance into the arena.

In addition, many CenterPoint customers subsequently lost power today, and crews are on the scene at a major fire at their plant in Texas City.
