Texas's Richest Places: Guess Who's Eating All The Caviar
Communities in Houston and Dallas are the only Lone Star State places to make Bloomberg's top-20 list.

Where do Texas's wealthiest people reside? The answer just might surprise you.
According to a new analysis of census data published by Bloomberg, cities and towns with ties to Wall Street and Silicon Valley had the highest U.S. household incomes in 2015. The richest households weren't isolated to the coasts, with some communities in between also making the list.
Atherton, California, topped the list, owing to its proximity to Silicon Valley. On the opposite coast, Bloomberg notes that more than one-third of the country's richest households were located within 50 miles of New York City.

Texas is represented on the list by number 14 Highland Park (Dallas); number 16 West University Place (Houston); number 27 University Park (Dallas); number 42 Southlake (Denton); number 47 Bellaire (Houston); and number 77, Colleyville (Tarrant County). Of course, if River Oaks, the tony enclave in Houston, was its own city, it would certainly be on Bloomberg's rankings. (In 2011 Bloomberg Businessweek ranked River Oaks as the seventh most expensive housing block in the United States.)
Bloomberg ranked a total of 6,200 communities, evaluating them for inflation-adjusted household income. All ranked communities had a minimum population of 2,000.
